"Be still, and know that I am God" -Psalm 46:10a
Recently this verse caught my attention in particular. Me and some of my sisters paint seed-stones, which are basically stones with pictures/scenes/flowers on the fronts and Bible verses on the backs. I was sorting through a basket of stones and paused at one that said 'Be still and know that I am God.' I started thinking about what this really means, and decided to post some of my thoughts.
This verse tells us to be still, to take time to think over the amazing things our Lord has done and the incredible wonders He works in our lives. It doesn't tell us that if we keep on busy with life we'll somehow magically draw closer to Him.
Relationships take time, they take conscious efforts to know someone more. God doesn't push Himself onto us, rather, He waits for us to come and talk to Him. This verse highlights the importance of taking time to pause and glorify God for all that He has done.
