The place to start

If you have never read my blog before, then this post is for you!

My prayer is that somehow through this blog you will be blessed in your walk with Christ and encouraged to keep your footprints on the straight and narrow path. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom your faith depends.

If you don't yet know the Lord, let me encourage you that choosing to follow Him is the most life changing and incredibly worth-while decision that you can make in your lifetime.

What difference does it make if you know Him or not?
God made you. He created you for a purpose -to bring Him glory and one day go to be with Him in Heaven, for eternity. The Lord cares about you and loves you, "See what great love the Father has lavished on us" -1 John 3:1. The Lord wants you to know Him as your Father and tell Him everything that matters to you. "Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." -1 Peter 5:7.

There is one problem -the Lord is perfect and cannot possibly tolerate any sin or wickedness so there is no hope for us as "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" -Romans 3:23. Because we have sinned we can never go to be with Christ in Heaven but the amazing thing is that God sent His son Jesus to earth to die on the cross to take away our sins. "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8  Because Jesus lived a perfect life, He is the only one who could ever save us from our sins. So because of what Jesus did for us at Calvary, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." -1 John 1:9.
But that's not the end of the story as Jesus didn't stay in the grave -three days later God raised Him back to life "‘Don’t be alarmed,’ he said. ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him." -Mark 16:6.

When you believe in Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you are now in His family. Talk to Him and know that He loves to hear from you no matter how trivial anything may seem. He is your very closest friend and you are never alone as He is always with you.
