Bonnie and I have just arrived back from the CEF camp. It was the winter camp and was held at Woodend. The only unfortunate thing about that is that being winter, almost all of us ended up catching a nasty cold that was going around the camp. :-( Camp Nurse ended up very busy.
This was my first CEF camp, and I don't intend it to be the last! In our cabin we had five girls for three leaders. It was lots of fun although it was very hard work as we felt so sick. Bonnie told me that the summer camps are much easier...
The gospel message was presented multiple times and the children were given lots of opportunities to respond. A lot of them raised their hands, but unfortunately almost none of them came to us leaders for counselling -it is definitely a spiritual battle. Please pray for these children that they will remember what they learnt and will not forget that they can call on the Lord anytime.
All in all, I think that the camp went well. I learnt heaps and am so grateful for everyone who encouraged me during camp, particularly my co-leaders who had to put up with me for a whole week!
I strongly encourage all of you to go on these camps. It is a wonderful opportunity to build into the lives of many children who otherwise might never hear.
